About EICA

About The Energy Industry CBT Alliance

The Energy Industry CBT Alliance (EICA) was formed in 2001 when three large investor-owned utilities joined together to create an organization that would help reduce the costs associated with computer-based training (online training/eLearning) development and help utilities learn from each other’s CBT best practices and CBT training content.

With this mission in mind, EICA assembled a team of experienced Articulate developers & professional voice talent to serve the gas & electric utility industry. This shared resource provides eLearning development services free to utility training departments. Utility companies pay a small annual membership fee to participate in this alliance and receive these services.

According to training managers at some of the nation’s largest utilities, EICA has become one of the most valuable & least expensive resources available to a utility’s in-house online training development team. EICA’s goal is to help each utility find the right EICA resource for their situation. Whether a utility needs to rapidly convert instructor-led training into eLearning courses or their in-house eLearning development team just needs professional voice narration, EICA can help.

EICA also maintains one of the largest independent libraries of custom utility-specific online training courses. About 1,000 of these online courses can be reviewed by EICA member utilities on EICA’s secure member website.  Besides providing a wealth of training content information, courses in this library can easily be customized by EICA for other utility companies, saving considerable development time and money.

Utilities new to EICA are encouraged to try EICA member benefits risk-free through EICA’s free trial membership
